
WILLIAM FORGEY MD
William W. Forgey, M.D., is a fellow of the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and past president of the Wilderness Medical Society. He has been a fellow of the Explorers Club, New York City, since 1975. He was named as one of the 20 greatest American Explorers in 2004 by the Explorers Club and honored by having a subcamp named for him at the 2005 Boy Scouts of America National Jamboree. He holds a CTH® from the International Society of Travel Medicine. Dr. Forgey is a volunteer clinical professor of Family Medicine at the Indiana University School of Medicine and was awarded the AΩA Volunteer Faculty of the Year award in 2000. He is a Professeur Associé, Sciences de la santé, Universite d’etat d’Haȉti, an overseas fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine (London), and a trustee and member of the Scientific Advisory Committee of the International Association for Medical Assistance to Travelers (Toronto), and advisor and founder of Health Corps Haiti—Medical Student Missions, Inc. He currently practices fulltime as a family physician.
